I was skeptical about purchasing this leave-in conditioner because I have Black American Locs and my daughter has very dry 4c hair. I went through the reviews and also tried to find other people who might have similar hair situations in the reviews, but I only happened to stumble upon 1 in my search.
So I am leaving this review for anyone who may have the same hair situations or close to it. First and foremost, this leave-in smells absolutely amazing. Now, most of us have probably experienced products that smell great and don't work, but this seems to fine so far.
So for my hair, I only put it in once because I have not washed it yet. That one application did leave my Locs very soft (they were really dry and not so soft before that) and my scalp felt moisturized and has felt ever since (which was approximately a week and a half which is completely not normal for MY Locs).
A friend who uses SheaMoisture recommended the company and curl product line to me. My curls have a really frizz/fro prone texture, and the [insert very successful beauty conglomerate] curl mousse left my hair looking nice, but never felt healthy.
After the mousse would dry, I would have flakes- which made me insecure. People tend to touch your hair a lot, when you have a unique texture- so when my friend touched my hair and I told her how I felt about my curls, she knew EXACTLY what I needed.
I had been using my [shamefully popular] mousse for YEARS!! As soon as I tried SheaMoisture's Curl Enhancing Smoothie instead of my horrible mousse- I knew my life had changed for the better. I ordered them entire curl product line and COULDN'T BE HAPPIER.
I now recommend SheaMoisture to everyone, curls or not!! This conditioner will change your entire texture, immediately. And the pump dispenser is EVERYTHING.
I received a sample of this product in my Ipsy bag and loved how it made my hair so manageable, soft, and shiny. I found a full size here on Amazon and couldn't believe the extremely low price point. This product is a major score.
I have thick, naturally coarse hair that I like to blow out into smooth bouncing curls. This requires a lot of product. I have been using Moroccanoil, Milk, and two Olaplex products together and haven't gotten the same results.Really.
My only complaint is that I would like to have Grow Long in a tube rather than a spray. I spray it into my palm about 40 times then rub my hands together and apply it to my ends, working my way up.
It doesn't have the beautiful fragrance of the other products I've used but it does have a light and pleasant scent. This is my new hair care staple!
I did not like this product at first but I love it now. I usually use the L'Oral elive hair conditioner but I am not a fan of the smell. I thought this conditioner smells really good, I just wish the consistency was thicker.
Makes my hair silky smooth and smells amazing all day. I have dye and bleach my hair three time since quarantine and this product really help maintain my hair moisture.
This is the BEST conditioner for my 9 year old's really long, crazy hair!:) My daughter has always had the "tight curls" but lately because her hair has gotten so long, her curls are not as abundant. We found this by "accident" when visiting my friend bc she had some for her daughter, so while we were there, I used it and had to get some right away!!
She also loves that she doesn't have to condition her hair in the shower (we wash hair every other night and/or when she has been swimming or gets really dirty otherwise). She uses the coordinating shampoo and she's all finished with her hair in the shower.
After she gets out and dries off a little, we put this miracle worker in there all over, wait about 2 minutes, and then it is a breeze to comb through. I have tried MANY other de-tanglers and conditioners, but this one is by far the best.
I'm not sure what they mean by drying power so for that I left a 3. I have hair to the middle of my butt am 6' so it's long. Before pantene went into the floor polish on your hair route I used it for years.
I never liked that overly slippery feel or how it detangled but only seemed to fake Moisturize. The last 2 years they've upped the detangled on this but it's still feeding my hair is lightly coconut scented that's been pleasing for several years....
I think I've used it nearly 15 off and on. I just keep returning to it! Pretty sure I would have chopped my hair down ages ago if it wasn't for this conditioner. In the summer I add a little of the coconut oil to freshly covered hair to help fight sun and wind drying out.
I have baby fine hair but lots and lots of it so tangles, breakage, drying and weight are a HUGE deal. I want healthy bouncy hair not straggly and these products help me achieve that.
Add to cart, now.Was this the first time I used this product? No. This was a repurchase for me. I have very long, thick wavy hair, and no matter what conditioning I do in the shower, my hair feels like it needs a little more moisture on the ends.
BUT, I also buy it because it's an amazing DETANGLER! I spritz this on my hair, probably 4 or 5 sprays in total and my brush just glides through. It works so well I've even bought this for my 7 year-old niece who has longer hair than I do.
The smell is wonderful. Also, the value is insane on here. I've brought this on Amazon and at Target previously and spent $20. The value of this is insane. Add to cart, just trust me.
I love this conditioner, it is now number one on the long list of conditioners I've tried. I have flat straight oily hair so I need a conditioner that doesn't weigh my hair down or make it oily. Traditional conditioners are made with heavy plastics and silicones which are shortcuts to actually conditioning and nourishing your hair.
The conditioning agents in this conditioner are all natural and good for your hair. Without the heavy silicones, the conditioner rinses out very easily, and doesn't weigh hair down. It is so mild that you could rub a little into skin and it wouldn't make it sticky.
It smells really nice too, kinda like vanilla syrup and marshmallows. After air drying my hair, my hair feels less frizzy and puffy than when I use regular conditioners, which leave that slick unclean feeling. I will stock up on more of these.
I usually like all Loreal products I try, but I've yet to fall in love with anything from them, other than the total repair five deep conditioner. I stumbled upon this leave in and purchased it bc it claimed to help grow your hair while also offering heat protection.
Idk if this actually grew my hair or if it was due to Quarantine / not being able to have my hair cut, but this for sure makes my hair so soft and smooth before and after I blow dry and style.
I was curious how this would perform as a "one and done" product since I'm locked indoors for who knows how long. I was so shocked at how smooth and fluffy / voluminous, but not frizzy, my hair was the next day when I woke up!
I went to sleep once my hair was about 80% air dried and was actually sad that I had nowhere to go bc it was such an amazing natural hair day! This does have silicone in it but I don't find this to be heavy at all and trust me when I tell you I really pile this on my hair.
I have thick, frizzy, wavy hair. I was hesitant to try this OGX because I've used other before while staying at someones home and found that it made my hair greasy and took away a lot of the volume. I decided to give this a try because its one I haven't tried and I'm glad I did.
It made my hair soft, smooth, and didn't take away the volume. The smell is great and lasts days! I don't normally notice a scent in my hair from shampoos but this one left a really nice scent even my husband likes it!
The best deal is to subscribe and save and it lasts me about 2 months washing my hair 2-3 times a week
My thin, straight hair is prone to breakage, and I gave this a try and it really works.... Alot less breakage now. Conditioner is nice and thick. I bought several bottles of the shampoo and conditioner for when it runs out.
I had a negative experience with argan oil in the past, it had left my hair very greasy and smelled strange, but that was a different brand, not this one. I decided to give argan another go because when I went to get my hair cut they used the oil and my hair did not have the greasy finish.
Someone gave me a sample size of this brand that ended up sitting in my cabinet for forever, as I was very hesitant to try it. When I finally did, it was thankfully nothing like that awful grease I had put on my hair in the past!
The OGX brand left my hair soft but not too soft where it's hard to style, and certainly not greasy at all. Because of my positive experience with the sample size I went ahead and ordered the regular size on Amazon (better price than my local Walmart).
Just for reference, I have very long, somewhat wavy but not curly Caucasian hair, fine texture but very thick. I'm at the beginning of going grey all over so my hair is also colour treated. Because of the change in texture with grey hair, it does tend to frizz now, which is very annoying.
Everyone in our household uses Pantene products. I purchase this "flavor" of shampoo and conditioner for my Shetland Sheepdog. Obviously, looking like a little Collie, he has tons of hair and sheds a great deal. Also dogs' skin is much drier than most humans.
That is why I use the conditioner as well. It soothes his skin and keeps his coat sleek and shiny.
Like I just said, JESUS MADE THIS LEAVE IN CONDITIONER HIMSELF!!! I tried the curl enhancing smoothie back in college and that was honestly hyped up to me.I was disappointed. So I was turned off from shea moisture. I have 3c & 4b hair and tends to get dry so I find myself moisturizing too much or not at all because of school, work, sleep, boyfriend....And LIFE.
BUT when I saw the "JBCO" line I HAD to buy it. I started out with the leave in and was drooling the moment it touched my hair. It glided on my curls and did not leave a residue. My hair was so moisturized and soft and defined.SOOOO..
I wanted to test it with my baby, Cantu Coconut Curling Cream & Olive oil. I flat twisted my hair & I ALMOST CRIED A THE DEFINITION. (I did tear up some lol) and I was late for work admiring my curls.
As I hit my 40s I thought my hair was falling out. I have super fine, straight hair, so it already looks sparse. I couldn't afford to lose a single strand! I started researching some things and thought maybe it was just breaking, vs falling out so I started looking for a product that would keep it from being so fragile.
I've tried many expensive products, but so far this conditioner (and the shampoo) have been working for 2+ years. I no longer loose a handful of hair ever time I wash it.
OMG, this has been such a huge time saver in the mornings (I have 3 girls)! I've tried many leave-in conditioner/detangling sprays over the years and they all work pretty decently, but none of them work as fast as Daily Dose.
I'm fascinated by how the thick conditioner that's in this bottle can spray out as a mist. I think that's what makes the conditioner work so well. I'm able to brush out the tangles so easily after a couple of sprays.
My only criticism is that the scent is a bit on the strong side. It's a nice scent actually and my girls like it, but I guess I'm used to the honest company one that is pretty much scentless. I think the effectiveness of this spray (and the time I'm saving) far outweighs that though.
I love this conditioner. Great value for the size. I recently dyed my hair so my hair is prone to drying out now. I also have to use purple shampoo to keep my highlights, so that dries my hair out even more.
This conditioner revives the smoothness and moisture in my hair by 80%. The scent is tolerable. Based on the amount I use, this bottle can last me up to 6 months. Will repurchase when it will almost run out.
FAQs on Hair Conditioner
Starting in the no so distant past, I acknowledged conditioner to be the establishment of one's hair-care plan. It's continually filled in as the simple choice, post-chemical advance that smooth and smooths your strands consequent to cleansing. Regardless, when a popular beautician named it in every way that really matters trivial during my latest trim, it made me have to investigate (also called mass-email each ace I know).
The recently referenced beautician is of the attitude that conditioner really doesn't give a great deal of preferred position in any way shape or form rather, it over-burdens the hair and that diet, stress the board, and inherited characteristics are the sole factors adding to a strong head of hair.
What you put in your body 100 percent matters (the more verdant greens the better! And clearly, unlimited pros have overemphasized the significance of both weight and innate characteristics with respect to hair, yet typical conditioner use had reliably seemed, by all accounts, to be critical as well.read more
Many of these answers are wrong. Is it safe?Yes.Is it recommended? No. It serves no purpose. A conditioner is a product which is positively charged. Hair is negatively charged and so it is essential to use a positively charged ingredient like BTMS 50 which is used also as an emulsifier for your other ingredients.
A conditioner will penetrate the hair shaft whereas other ingredients which are lovely additions, don't penetrate the hair shaft because they are not positively charged. Without the addition of an ingredient that penetrates the hair, it might be a nice product but it is not a conditioner.
Among those ingredients are things like coconut oil, Argan oil etc. These are the moisturizing ingredients and it is those moisturizing ingredients that can benefit your hair and scalp by leaving them on longer than a few minutes. A conditioner doesn't need to have any oils at all in it.read more
(Updated) From my observations, I would have to say Yes, but, it only if you have a high sugar, sugar substitute, meat and dairy diet, as it's not the primary cause The scalp is covered in sweat glands and sebum is over 50% glycerides (a fatty acid: grease, IMO), wax esters, cholesterol (forms of gunk from diet).
I would presume the rest that hasn't been mentioned is perspiration. So, in theory, shampoo and conditioner work like deodorant to rid the hair and scalp of hair smell and block the sweat glands (and follicles). Try using dishwashing liquid, like Dawn, for a few weeks, to degrease your scalp and hair and you should notice a drastic difference.
Its often used as a clarifying shampoo. Yes, hair conditioning is necessary for hair well being and to maintain its natural oils. The daily exposure to atmospheric toxic air and harmful sun rays, hair looses its shine and lustre which in turn becomes dry, dull and breakable.
You should, must and should condition your hair. Now, there are two ways that you can eaisly condition it: Natural Natural conditioning is by using nature's products directly without much processing in between. The best hair conditioners are: Cononut milk/ milk, Egg ( with and without yolk; usage depends on your hair texture ) Bananas, Avacados, Honey ( if your hair is brown; never use for dark hair ) Apple cider vineger, Take care of the time you leave the natural product in your hair.
Too much of time can be harmful and does more bad than any good. A minimum of 10-20 minutes and maximum of 20-30 minutes. Sometimes an hour is also Artificial In the form of conditioner bought from the stores. You can use either of the conditioning methods, but you have to remember that not everyone has the same hair texture and natural methods won't suit everyone.read more
