To unlatch the barrier, simply unhook the mesh from the brackets, then guide the handle back towards the reel.

Bow Wow Barrier's clear, unobtrusive brackets are quickly installed to your wall and door. Are you worried about concealing the screw holes if, down the road in the future, you ever choose to remove the brackets? Remember that your entire house is constructed with screws and nails, and they are all covered up – so, this is no different. The screw holes left behind are small and easily covered and concealed with a little putty or caulk, and a dab of paint or stain.

Bow Wow Barrier was designed to be a versatile, at-the-ready barrier for use on an interior or exterior door. Because of this, Bow Wow Barrier does not contain a mesh locking mechanism and was not designed to statically cover a walkway.
