Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Can a boxer wear a Halti?

Halti Head Collar This is where the leash clips too. Most of the straps on the Halti head collar are adjustable, so you can fit them according to your dog's size. However, in my experience, the extra straps around the mouth sometimes aggravate the dog and don't always work best for shorter muzzle dogs, such as Boxers.

2. Why are harnesses bad for dogs?

Harnesses discourage pulling. When your dog is wearing a collar and pulls on the leash, he's still moving forward, which makes him think the pulling is successful. A harness, whether attached on his chest or between his shoulder blades, redirects him; there's no reward because pulling doesn't get him anywhere.

3. Is a dog harness cruel?

NO! A wrongly fitted harness can affect a dog's gait and movement. Several animal professionals, behaviourists, trainers and I would never recommend a harness that goes around a dog's chest due to how they place pressure on a dog's shoulder, restrict a dog's movement and gait.
