Pros

  • Convenient for quick cleanups of small messes
  • Self-cleaning feature
  • Two separate tanks ensure cleanness
  • Self-propelled, making it easy to operate even by kids

Cons

  • Doesn't effectively clean larger or sticky messes
  • does not go down 180 degrees to clean under furniture

As someone who is meticulous about cleanliness, I was initially skeptical about the whole wet/dry vacuum-mop-in-one concept. However, I found that Tineco iFloor 2 works quite well for my needs. It’s not a deep cleaner, per se, but it does a great job of picking up dirt and grime on the surface and leaving my floors looking noticeably cleaner.

Performance

The vacuum function is pretty solid, it doesn't miss much. In fact, it's impressive how well it picks up tiny particles that I would typically have to sweep up before mopping. It’s not just about vacuuming though, I love the mopping feature too. It’s so satisfying to see the dirty water tank fill up, knowing that all that grime is no longer on my floors.

What’s more, with my dog trotting in and out, leaving muddy paw prints and water splashes, this vacuum mop is a lifesaver. It quickly sucks up these messes and saves me a lot of time.

The one gripe I have is with the wheels. They tend to leave marks on my floor as I clean. Not a huge issue, but something worth noting.

I’m also a bit of a rebel when it comes to using my own cleaners. Despite the manufacturer's advice, I’ve been using my own floor cleaner and I haven’t had any issues. In fact, I quite enjoy the fresh scent it leaves in my home.

In terms of maintenance, it’s relatively easy to disassemble and clean, although it does take a few minutes after each use. The self-cleaning function operates like a high-speed rotation process to clean the brush roll. However, it's still necessary to clean the dirt water tank and other attachments to maintain cleanliness, otherwise, they may start to emit an unpleasant odor.

Overall, I’d say it's a good purchase. It’s convenient, efficient, and makes my cleaning routine a lot easier. For those who are looking for a device that can vacuum and mop at the same time, this could be a great choice. It's not a replacement for a steam mop, but it is a handy tool to have around the house. By the way, it cannot be used only as a vacuum.

Can you use iFloor 2 on Carpets?

No, Tineco says the iFloor series can only be used on sealed hard floors without carpets. I also don’t think it’s a good idea to let iFloor do this. Profession carpet cleaners with steam and dry function would be the best solution.

Maneuverability

The self-propelled feature takes a lot of the strain off your arm and makes moving around large spaces a breeze. The vacuum glides easily along hard floors.

However, when it comes to negotiating tight spaces or corners, this vacuum doesn't fare as well. The bulkiness of the machine makes it awkward to navigate around furniture and other obstacles. It doesn't turn very easily, which can be frustrating when trying to clean in confined areas.

Another area where the vacuum could improve is the ability to clean under furniture. It doesn't go down 180 degrees flat, which means it's impossible to clean under low-lying furniture without moving them.

On the positive side, the cordless design does add to the maneuverability. You don't have to worry about tripping over cords or having to switch outlets mid-clean.

Battery Life

The runtime is around 20 minutes. In fact, it even manages to have some power left over after I've finished vacuuming my entire kitchen and living room. However, I do have to note that I need to move reasonably quick between areas to make sure it doesn't run out of juice. I would say, for a larger home or for deep cleaning sessions, you might find the battery life a bit limiting. But for my daily cleaning needs, cleaning the kitchen after each meal, it's been more than adequate.

iFloor 2 vs iFloor 3

There’s no significant differences between iFloor 2 and 3. iFloor 3 does have a longer battery life (just a little), larger water tanks, which reduce the time of emptying the dirty tank during cleaning.

However, it is also heavier, which may make it harder to maneuver. And it costs extra $50 than the iFloor 2, which seems not that necessary. Ultimately, the decision comes down to your specific needs.

Tineco iFloor 2 vs Bissell Crosswave

When comparing the Tineco iFloor 2 and the Bissell Crosswave(corded version), it is apparent that the cleaning performance of the iFloor 2 is superior. Not only does it offer a more thorough clean, but it also comes at a lower price point than the Bissell Crosswave. It’s even lighter.

However, the Tineco iFloor 2 does fall short in terms of battery life. It cannot match the unlimited runtime that the corded Bissell Crosswave provides. And Crosswave can be used on rugs and mats! This may attract many people.

The iFloor 2 is suitable for individuals who prioritize cleaning performance and value for money. It's great for homeowners who need to clean hard floors, and don't mind having to recharge the unit regularly.

On the other hand, the Bissell Crosswave is more suitable for those who want a continuous, uninterrupted cleaning experience. It's ideal for larger homes or commercial spaces where there's a lot of ground to cover, as the corded design means you won't have to pause your cleaning to recharge.

Summary

This iFloor 2 is a great tool for everyday cleaning. It works impressively on hard floors, effectively sucking up dust and debris, and mopping up spills with ease. The self-propelled feature is a nice touch, making it easy to move around larger rooms.

However, it does struggle a bit in tight spaces and around furniture, due to its size. And while the cordless design is a plus, the battery life might not be sufficient for larger homes or deep cleaning sessions.

The maintenance is manageable, although the need to clean the dirt water tank and other attachments after each use can be a bit time-consuming.

Despite these minor issues, the convenience and efficiency of this vacuum mop make it a good purchase for those who want a 2-in-1 cleaning device. It's not perfect, but it's a handy tool to have around the house, especially for those with pets or children.

Please remember, it's not suitable for carpets and it's not a replacement for a steam mop, but for hard floors, it does a pretty solid job.
