Retro Stage

I made a purchase from Retro Stage in July for some stunning sequined dresses to wear to my 1920's evening events. I was thrilled to find that they offered plus sizes as well. Overall, I was really impressed with my experience!

However, things took a turn when I decided to take advantage of their "preview" sale in August and purchased three items. Unfortunately, all of them turned out to be too small, despite me referring to their sizing chart. While the construction details were decent, they weren't as nice as my previous purchases. Additionally, the fabric used was just the same low-quality polyester you can find elsewhere, without any lining or stiffening. This was especially disappointing for a 1940's dress with an A-line skirt, as it ended up hanging limply instead of looking like the picture they advertised.

To make matters worse, their return process was a nightmare. You only have a 15-day window to initiate a return, and then it becomes a back-and-forth email exchange while the clock is ticking. On top of that, you have to bear the expense of returning the items yourself. Even after I returned two items, I had to follow up with them a month later because they hadn't refunded my money, despite me providing the necessary tracking information and including my order details in the package.

Overall, while my initial experience with Retro Stage was great, my recent purchase and the subsequent return process left a lot to be desired.

Returning an item with Retro Stage is quite a hassle, involving a lot of back-and-forth emails. It seems like they purposely delay confirming the return, hoping that the 15-day return window will pass. On top of that, they attempt to convince you to keep the item instead of returning it. I find Retro Stage to be a manipulative company, and I will actively discourage others from doing business with them.

I finally placed an order and was excited to receive my two dresses. Unfortunately, I can't post the order number as it's in the photos. I was aware that the delivery would take a while, but eventually, the first dress arrived. However, I was disappointed to find that the stitching was coming undone from the seams. It was a bit disheartening, but I thought I could fix it myself.

After waiting for about a month, the second dress arrived, and to my dismay, it looked nothing like the photo. Additionally, it was much smaller than the other dress, even though I ordered the same size.

In an attempt to resolve the issue, I opened a PayPal case, but the company responded by saying that they would only refund me if I returned the dresses at my own expense, which would cost me more than 50 euros. This kind of response is unacceptable. Moreover, I find it inconvenient that they were originally shipped from China.

I recently bought some clothes and accessories from RS, and most of the items were okay. However, I had some issues with the sizes and quality, so I had to return a few things. Their website claims to have a hassle-free return policy, but that's not the case at all.

For example, I had to return a pair of shoes because their women's size 7 is not the same as a US size 7. I also returned a skirt because the top part with the buckle was sewn on inside out. It's been hit and miss with the quality too. I returned a pair of shorts and a tank top (both of which were not good quality), but unfortunately, I accidentally threw away the tracking number. I've been trying to contact them multiple times to get either the warehouse number in California or for them to reach out to the warehouse, but their response has been unacceptable.

They claim they can't contact their own warehouse, which seems suspicious. Basically, they are refusing to help me with the return and have told me that I'm out of luck. They don't want to give me a refund, so I'm sharing my experience in the hope that people won't waste their money on this company. I suggest shopping elsewhere and avoiding any companies affiliated with Retro Stage.

I bought a bathing suit and wrap that match each other. They are really good quality and have a unique design. The bathing suit has two layers and the fabric is strong and not see-through, even the white parts. The wrap has a nice zipper. It took around a month for the package to arrive in Canada. Just make sure you choose the correct size because returning items might be a bit of a hassle.

When I first saw their ads on Facebook, I was hesitant to order from their website because of the negative reviews. However, there was this amazing 1940's silk dress that I couldn't find anywhere else, and it kept appearing in my feed. I couldn't get it out of my mind, so I decided to take a chance and give it a try.

I was pleasantly surprised and I can't understand why there were so many negative comments. Maybe they have improved their quality over time? I do want to mention that the shipping took longer than usual, but I understand that they are being careful with shipping during these times. For me, it was definitely worth the wait.

I bought 2 dresses and a petticoat from this store, and they all fit me perfectly and look absolutely stunning! The fabric is lightweight and comfortable, and the petticoat feels incredibly dreamy. I'm definitely planning on making another purchase very soon! As someone who adores the 50's style, this website fulfilled all my retro fashion desires. If you couldn't already tell from my review, I absolutely adore these items! Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of them before washing, but trust me, they are amazing!

The dress looks exactly like the picture, and the quality appears to be good. It's a bit larger in size, but that's expected for 20s dresses as they're not meant to be slim fit.
