Hempz is a well-regarded brand known for its range of beauty and skincare products that are primarily based on hemp seed oil. The brand has been in operation since 1998 and has consistently focused on unlocking the wellness-boosting power of hemp.

The brand's products are often praised for their moisturizing properties and pleasant scents, which are not too overpowering. Their lotions, in particular, are highly recommended for after-sun care, with the Triple Moisture Whipped Herbal Body Creme being a fan favorite. In terms of haircare, Hempz's shampoo and conditioner have received mixed reviews. Some users find the shampoo doesn't lather as much as they'd like, but the conditioner is generally well-liked.

Hempz's body washes are also popular, with users praising their moisturizing properties and pleasant scents. The Fresh Coconut & Watermelon Nourishing Herbal Body Wash is a particular favorite.

However, there have been some concerns about the brand's labeling practices. For instance, one user pointed out that a Hempz lotion was labeled as not containing propylene glycol, but the ingredient was listed in the product's ingredients. This could be due to the ingredient being present in a very small amount, but it does raise questions about transparency.

In terms of ethics, Hempz appears to have a good reputation and hasn't been involved in any major scandals.

Overall, Hempz seems to be a reliable brand with a wide range of products that are generally well-received by consumers. However, as with any brand, individual experiences may vary, and it's always a good idea to patch test new products to ensure they don't cause any adverse reactions.

Helpful Review: "I'm really fond of the fragrance and feel of this lotion. I wish it were slightly thicker, yet it's ideal as a full-body lotion, particularly after sun exposure. Its original scent reminds me of summer, which enhances my appreciation for it. My rating is four out of five stars, with the only drawback being its somewhat steep price for a body lotion."

"This is the only lotion my particular husband will use. He dislikes lotions with strong scents, but this one has a mild fragrance that doesn't bother him. We go through about 4 to 6 of these annually, just for him."

"Initially, I was uncertain about the scent since I have sensitive skin and usually prefer unscented lotions to avoid skin irritation or conflicting with my perfume (Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh Eau de Toilette). However, to my delight, the scent turned out to be wonderful. Within a week of regular use, I noticed a significant improvement, particularly on my rough and dry elbows. The scent is fresh and subtle, and it complements my perfume nicely."

Helpful Review: "I've experimented with all sorts of products, including lip masks, scrubs, Vaseline, coconut oil, and various chapstick and lip balm brands. I purchased this product based on a recommendation, albeit with some skepticism. Just one day in, I've observed that it moisturizes so well I don't need to reapply as frequently as with other products. My lips maintain a hydrated look, not appearing crusty, even when I feel the need for more application. It has a subtle scent and a thinner, gloss-like texture, which I found surprisingly impressive."

"I bought this lip balm because of its high ratings, expecting it to be excellent. However, its taste is very off-putting. It's inevitable to taste anything applied on the lips, and this one just doesn't taste good. If Hempz could improve the flavor, I'd consider buying it again. Despite feeling nice on my lips, the unpleasant taste is a dealbreaker for me, preventing any future purchases."

Helpful Review: "As a devoted user of Hempz moisturizer, I decided to give their shampoo a try, and I'm pleased with my decision. This shampoo has a pleasant aroma and it makes my hair not only clean but also exceptionally soft. While Hempz products are usually quite costly, I find them to be a valuable investment."

"The ad claims this product is suitable for color-treated hair, but the bottle doesn't mention this. Instead, it's labeled for thin/fine hair, emphasizing volume and body. Personally, I'm not keen on using it because it leaves a weird film on my hair, making me feel the need to wash it again the next day. Contrary to its claims, it doesn't seem to volumize; my hair feels weighed down. Initially, I thought I hadn't rinsed well enough, but after several uses, I've realized it's the shampoo or conditioner itself. It might not be the right fit for me, but it could work well for someone else!"
