The material is 304SS (cold working stainless steel) per JIS G 4305:2012. There may be a slightly stronger magnetic reaction on the surface or close to the stamping edge, typically observed in cold working parts. Designed to withstand harsh environmental elements. They are ideal for outdoor use, especially in a marine setting. These d-rings will never rust. Don't be fooled if over time there are brown surface spots, this is generally caused by atmospheric iron.

The top cap covering the ring is 16 gauge. Two 1/4" diameter mounting holes on 1-1/4" centers secures the attachment.
INSTALLATION: To obtain maximum strength it is recommended to install these d-rings with 1/4 bolts, lock nuts, and fender washers (wide diameter) when installing on a trailer floor, box van or any surface where you have access on the opposite side. Simple bolt on mounting is all that is required, or you have the option of welding these directly to a stainless steel platform. A strong 3,500 lb. breaking load capacity (straight pull). W.L.L. is 1,167 lb. capacity - WORKING LOAD LIMIT: The maximum load weight a tie-down should be subjected to during normal use. Both pieces are made with a 304SS alloy stainless steel, they will never rust or corrode. The ring is fused together, not compressed, therefore preventing the ring from pulling apart. To obtain a tiedown attachment that is 100 percent rust-free it is recommended to install these d-rings with 1/4 stainless steel bolts, SS lock nuts, and SS fender washers (wide diameter). This tie down attachment has a 1,200 lb. capacity vertical pull weight rating with a 400 lb WLL* - see more product details below. Use two d-rings to obtain a flush, trip free surface to secure cargo weighing less than 800 lbs.
Tiedown pans are designed to mount flush to mounting surface making them ideal for trailers along with other applications. To install this recessed attachment it requires routing, or cutting a hole in the floor. The closer you install to a floor beam the stronger the d-ring.
