Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Should you matte a poster?

What other mediums might determine your mat and framing style? Well, for large custom framed concert posters or movie posters, we usually recommend the straightforward look of a full-bleed custom frame job. And for important documents and press clippings, we recommend a mat.

2. What is a matte in framing?

In the picture framing industry, a mat (or matte, or mount in British English) is a thin, flat piece of paper-based material included within a picture frame, which serves as additional decoration and to perform several other, more practical functions, such as separating the art from the glass.

3. What is a good poster frame?

Metal is a popular choice for poster frames thanks to a wide selection of colors, finishes, and high durability. Some metal options include aluminum, bronze, silver, and gold. Aluminum is a lightweight and corrosion-resistant option. It also is inexpensive, attractive, and readily available.
