There are leaves everywhere. It's November. We have a lot of leaves. Most of them come from half a dozen poplars, huge trees. People have tried many ways to deal with these problems. We hired someone to take care of them. We ignored them. We cut them until they disappear. A few years ago, a speech by TED recommended the use of leaf blowers / vacuum cleaners to cut up leaves and put them in the garden. Good idea, but too slow and branches cause things to clog. Upgrade to ten horsepower chipper / shredder. It's still too slow. Neither method produces really fine mulch. It will take several years to mold / compost, or more. This fall, it was a lawnmower with a covered blade and no collection bag. Rake the leaves into a pile. Place the deck in a lower groove. Tilt the lawnmower on its rear wheel, move forward, put the lawnmower on the pile, and be careful not to drag the engine down. Repeat the above steps until all the leaves disappear. This produces a very good mulch, which I think will mold / compost quickly. Rake everything into a pile, scoop it up, throw it in a big trash can, and carry it to the garden. This is where leaf predators come in. I've been digging with leaf rakes and b...

  • ADJUSTABLE RAKE - This excellent all purpose rake adjusts in two ways. The fan head adjusts with an easy movement and the handle telescopes quickly easily. It telescopes from 37 inches to 68 inches for all your raking needs. Also, the tough steel tines adjust from 7.5 inches to 21.75 inches wide.
  • MULTI-FUNCTIONAL - Great for working under hedges and in flower beds. It’s the versatility of this rake that makes it such a find. Besides the usual uses for a garden rake, the smaller head allows you to rake in between perennials and not damage the plants. It also is ideal for raking out debris from window wells, under hard to get at places or in the middle of dense flower beds.
  • HIGH-QUALITY - The rake is made from aluminum alloy so it is both strong and lightweight - a bonus when there are a lot of heavy leaves to lift up. Also, with the adjustable fan, it folds to a tighter profile so that it is less apt to be damaged while being stored between raking jobs.
  • ERGONOMIC RUBBERIZED HANDLE - Yard work might not be everyone’s idea of fun, but you don’t have to be uncomfortable while you rake. The Professional EZ Travel Collection Telescopic Rake is simply more comfortable to use than others thanks to the easy-grip rubberized handle.

This project is so cool. I like its compactness and the rake can have an adjustable width. And easy to use. I will use it on camping trips to clean up leaves, branches and stones. I am placing tents. I will use this product this weekend, so I will update it if necessary, but so far, I like it very much, and it seems to be doing really well!?

Good and compact, keep in our camping trailer to rake up sticks, leaves and rocks before putting down our camping mats. I want to put the hand lock is a different design, not just a twist lock it (may be a clamp, after you lock it, expand it), because it tends to loosen, while rake, make it less sturdy, and take more than it can. And if the plastic ring breaks, it's not so strong (the first ring I received was broken, and I had to replace it, but they soon sent it over). The rake teeth are good and strong, so I don't expect them to break any time soon.

These rakes are the best! I didn't use it to really "rake" leaves, but after I raked them into a pile (with my regular rake) to pick them up. For me, the worst part of raking leaves is to pack them up and pick them up, and this Amazing Rake is perfect for this part of the job. Don't bend over or leave as many leaves on the ground as you put in a bag. I've been using it for years, and my brother, who helped me take care of the yard, was impressed by it, so I bought one for him, too!

Excellent rubber rake head. Perfect rake leaves, fragments from the roof without damage to the tiles. The rake head is heavier than the metal rake head, but this is perfect when connected to the long rod, because the weight helps guide the rake where you want to go. I use this to collect leaves, pine needles, pineal shells, etc., from the roof valley, which is flashed by metal. This rake head does not damage the flash and is quiet. Now, I can get to my roof area on the ladder without having to climb to the roof. That'd be great.

The rake has a strong structure and is very helpful in cleaning up stubborn backyards. Despite the heavy use, I have not experienced the separation of the pole from the actual rake itself, as some other critics have mentioned. The only drawback is that the only disadvantage that is not enough to have a negative effect on the star is that the glue that connects the rake handle to the actual rake handle can be seen in a small drop on the rake. If this bothers you, it's easy to remove.

This is the second Gardena 8918 hand rake I bought. The only reason I got the second was because I ran over the first with a lawnmower. I've been using it for about ten years. If you do a lot of gardening, it is an essential tool. It has a combined system that allows you to switch handles out of a longer rod, if you like. I highly recommend this product, but I have a sneaky suspicion that it may stop production.

I opened the package from Miles Golden Globe Garden and thought, "how much did I pay for this?" I used it yesterday. I can't believe what I saw. It's not just super plastic, it's perfect for my little hands. I set up a bunch of leaves and began to use "hands." within a few minutes they all disappeared, effortless and rarely bent. I was 77, I felt 37, and in about 35-40 minutes, I cleaned up all the leaves in the backyard. My neighbor has a huge tree, and I get most of his leaves, so I rake it there at least every other day. I've tried leaf-sucking gadgets, but at my age, they're too heavy for me to use. After I had raked all the leaves, I picked up my hand and easily dug up the rest around the bushes. I highly recommend this gadget, which is made of heavy plastic, light and big enough to get a lot of things when you pick it up. I believe that over time, I will find that this has many uses. Please understand that I am very small, 5 feet 1 inch, not a lot of things I can use without getting tired, go back to my computer or TV. My husband died three years ago, so I didn't have him around to do all this honey. I did it. The gardener only mowed my front lawn. I did the rest. When you se...

A unique but clever rake. My yard is full of big elm trees. Some are close to property lines, fences, flower beds, etc. A standard fixed rake never works completely, because those narrow areas seem to attract more leaves than their share. With this rake, I just need to tap a lever and adjust the width of the rake so that I don't have to stop, either hold them in my hand, or change the tool narrow enough. The rake seems to be well made of good material. Only time can be determined, but I don't see why this rake won't serve me in the next few years. I find it easy to recommend this rake to anyone looking for a little more than other tools.

I put loose popcorn in the microwave and dried popcorn in a special microwave popcorn bowl. The best way for me is to cook with regular popcorn in the microwave, then I put the popcorn in my bowl and put the unpopcorn back in the microwave for 2 minutes. I got very few unpopped kernels in the end, no burning popcorn. A key step in this process is to remove the burst corn kernels from the cooking bowl and leave the unburst corn kernels behind. This hand rake works very well. The unpopped corn kernels slipped through the fingers of the rake and remained in the cooking bowl, while the popped corn kernels were scooped out and put into my vegetable bowl.

Do you want to keep your garden and yard clean especially when season comes? It is not so easy to rake the leaves from the floor it is small and rotten. A leaf rake could be useful to relieve you from hours of backbreaking work. How to choose the best leaf rake for your needs? You need to take a plenty of factors into account when making choice. If you have no idea how to research, then you are in the right place. This buying guide tells some vital factors for your consideration before buying. Read on.

Rake handle

The leaf rakes come with a wide range of categories with various sized and features. How to make the choice depends on your personal preference. But you have to think about some features for effective use. When buying a leaf rake, most want to get the one which can help to remove leaves with ease. It is possible that you have large quantity of leaves or water clogged leaves to process. Higher strength or pressure is required. In this way a leaf rake handle should be of reliable quality and strength. It is recommended to use a metal handle for this purpose. However if you do not want a heavy tool, a plastic handle works well.

Rake width

Based on the purpose to remove fallen leaves form the ground, most tend to choose a leaf rake with great width. The benefit is it is able to remove the large quantity of leaves from wide areas in less tracks. But you have to consider that it might not be easy to handle for its width. And that put much strain on your back and arms. While a narrow rake can be handy to operate. But it would not be so capable to handle heavy duties effectively. It is better to choose a leaf rake with reasonable width according to your purpose.

Though a lot of leaf rakes on the market seem similar, they can be different in the tines. The gap between the tines determines its functionality. If the tines are too close to each other, they might uproot the plants when you are raking leaves form the yard. A leaf rake with too wide tine gaps will be ineffective and a waste of time when processing small leaves. Have a clear view of the leaves and choose the tines with suitable gap to fit it. Keep in mind that the leaf rake is designed to help you tidy the garden with less time and effort.

The leaf rakes come with various sizes and lengths to accommodate different requirements. You have to know its purpose is to relieve stress from your body and remove leaves in an easiest way. How to choose this parameter depends on your height. A too long leaf rake takes more strength to handle and is not so easy to control. While a short one requires you to bend more which adds strain to your back and arms.
