I have recently worked as a carpenter in my spare time. I've always been a fan of cable tools because I usually work in my store and have electricity available. I absolutely hate running out of batteries and I have to wait to recharge. A few months ago, I had to build a barn and connect about 50 3-foot-wide, 15-foot-long tin panels, and to do that, I had to buy a battery-powered drill. Let me tell you that I will never go back to the wired tool after the way this tool behaves. The drill was equipped with two batteries, which I recharged before the project. After hundreds of screws, I have the whole roof, I may be half through the second battery! I have owned this drill for more than six months now and use it once a week. It still behaves as if it were brand new! I know DeWalt is a little more expensive than other brands, but I can't recommend a higher drill. Prices range from $99 to $129, and every penny is worth it. Benefits: 1) LED lights are super bright for dark workspaces, 2) 2) two batteries last very long and charge very fast 3) 20V power is enough for weekend warriors / intermediate craftsmen if you do a lot of research on the product as I did before I bought it, it's a 100...

I love this thing. I've been working in the car for a long time. I wish I could get one earlier. It makes the work in the car faster and more interesting. If you repair or modify a car, think about how much time it takes you to remove nuts and bolts from parts. The bolts on the car may be 15-24 threads per inch, which means you have to rotate one bolt 15 turns to move each bolt one inch. Now imagine, if this is almost instantaneous, it has a lot of torque for a lightweight tool, so it can handle a lot of work, and it's quite small, and it's wireless, so it can get into a lot of places under the car. For the bolt that is too tight for this tool, I still loosen it with a wrench and hit it with this drive because it saves a lot of time. The same is true of tightening-I will put it in most or all places (depending on the torque required) and set the final torque with a torque wrench. The proportion of the bag is not very large, as shown in the figure. It's cute to bring sandwiches to your place of work, but don't expect to bring a club sandwich or something with a lot of tomatoes.

This is the latest version of the DeWalt compact brushless bit. I used DeWalt 771780, various makitas and other drills. This DeWalt is undoubtedly the best cordless drill I have ever used. I work in a factory and often use a lot of bits to drill through steel, stainless steel and aluminum. The chuck makes anything else I've ever used feel like a joke. Makita and Porter cable chucks are not very good. The other drains at least do not slip with smaller bits, but the metal 791 chuck is at another level. It is very accurate, smooth and firm. The chuck itself guarantees an additional cost of more than 780. The 780 is only $30 cheaper than the 791, and I don't understand that because it's closer to the 771 than the 791. If you're thinking about 780, either save your money and get 771, which is pretty good, or just spend a little more money to get 791, which is a huge step forward. Compared with most bits, brushless motor is extremely powerful. According to the Internet, the output torque of the bit is about 620 in-lbs. In the United States, DeWalt lists their bits according to any number of non-standard output units. There may be some old engineer working there, thinking he knows everyth...

It's almost confusing to me how many different models DeWalt has of basically the same drills. I used to think this one was basically just like the brushless XR driver I have but with a hammer setting but it's much bigger and the chuck/housing looks more substantial. Makes sense if it's going to be hammering all the time I guess. This drill has a different distinctive torque adjustment that gives loud and crisp clicks and the tightening of the chuck is also improved over the regular XR I own to where there are more definitive clicks there as well. When using the hammer function it kind of reminds me of a Bosch of about the same size that has the hammer/drill functions. This thing is a beast and for the price I couldn't resist. I had to decide between spending a little more on a legit SDS and toting that around on ladders or getting away with a hammer drill that I could also use for driving. This won't put holes through masonry like an SDS will but it will still get it done much better than trying to use a regular drill or an impact like a jackass. It also has the power to do some serious drilling in other material.

As a drywall contractor, I was impressed by this router. I'm not a big fan dragging wires around, it's a good solution. The difference between RPM and the wired default router is imperceptible. The only time I noticed a big rpm drop that affected performance was when I needed a new battery. I will recommend this to anyone who is currently using wired router settings.

I used to work in this industry. I never buy low-quality tools. I bought this to replace my previous 18-year-old DeWalt cordless drill (yes, the first half of the 18-year-old was used for trading, the second half was spare at home, and occasionally used). The exercise did not fail, but the two batteries could not hold too much charge, so it was time to replace and modernize. I definitely got my money value. Today I am mainly an advanced DIYer, I am not a comprehensive brand loyalty, but based on the tool itself to choose the manufacturer. I have a lot of experience with power tools, and I believe DeWalt is strong in cordless bits, miter saws and grinders. I have chosen other brands for my rope hammer bits, circular saws, reciprocating saws, etc. This one is much smaller and much lighter, but it is very powerful (it is part of the "compact series"). Battery life is also longer today. I've used it at least a dozen times, and it's doing very well. Overall, I think it's a very good tool and the price is high (it's down from $139 to $99 at the time of this writing-it's a good deal). In particular, it includes two batteries. The soft shell seems to be a new trend, and it is OK, but I ret...

Good right angle bit for easy operation, suitable for all DeWalt 20 volt batteries. I bought this version, without any batteries, hoping to use my larger 20-volt battery, and I used it with their brushless bits and several other 20-volt tools. The work is perfect, and the increased running time is more important to me than the lighter weight. It's like a two-speed gearbox plus a gearbox, because I use it to drill and twist. I'm rebuilding an airflow trailer and a good right-angle bit, and it's absolutely important to get into hard-to-reach places. I like the double-speed gearbox plus transmission function because I use it to drill and screw. I'm rebuilding an airflow trailer and a good right-angle bit to get into hard-to-reach places, which is absolute.

This is a high torque bit driver. Hold on to it when driving the screw, but start very carefully, otherwise it will rotate the drive position in the screw head (cross or disk head) and peel it off. When driving the screw, it takes practice and effort to start the bit slowly. Yes, this is the slower of the two speed settings. For drilling, the torque is high, just make sure you tighten the bit into the chuck, otherwise the high torque may cause you to rotate around the bit.

Most of my work is carpentry in my shop-no field work. I don't need the maximum power of a 20 volt drill. For many years, I have been using 12v drills, and have been a complete success. The DCD 701F2 drill comes with two 2ah batteries. These should power a lot of drilling. Of course it's enough until the other batteries are recharged. This unit is light in weight and well balanced. The maximum value of the chuck is 3 ". I rarely use a bigger bit than this. When I do this, I turn to plug-in monsters with 1-inch chucks.

Best DEWALT Drills Buying Guide

avatar3.jpeg avatar
David Dawson

When choosing a drill whether for personal or professional use, you have a number of factors to consider about. The DEWALT is popular for its high quality and reliability. Even in this way, you have to choose the best model that fit your individual needs based a complex of points. Take your time to do research on their distinctive features and styles. It might take a lot of effort when choosing the most suitable type among a vast of options. Here this buying guide offers some vital pints that you can take into account when making a purchase. Read on.

Price

As the DEWALT drilling tools are leading in its quality and performance, it can be costly. You can find a vast range of options under this category. When choosing a machine that suitable for your needs, you have to ensure it is affordable. As the general rule goes, you get what you pay. That depends on your purpose and applications. Some are looking for basic functions to offer reliable service for small or medium tasks. A modestly powerful machine performs perfectly.

Power

This is the first and foremost factor you have to care about when choosing a drilling tool. Choose a powerful motor that generates reliable power output. That allows you to complete the drilling tasks efficiently and quickly. There are brushless motor and brushed motor available on the market. In comparison, a brushless motor has a better running time than the other option. It offers the possibility for you to adjust the speed according to your requirement. Check the power level when you are buying the product. The selection depends on what you use it for. A high power is capable to accommodate heavy or extensive projects. If you are buying it for regular home use, it is no sense to buy excessively high power. In most cases higher power means larger size and higher price tag.

Size and weight

When it comes to a handheld tool, it can be the more compact the better it is. That provides portability enabling you to hold it for prolonged period projects. Keep in mind that the size and weight are related with power efficiency. If you are looking for a powerful drilling tool for professional working, it is better not to compromise on the size and weight. However if you use it for regular home purpose, a compact model can be enough to handle.

Ergonomic design

Choose a DEWALT drilling tool with ergonomic design. That on one way allows for long time use without issues during operation. On the other hand you can have a more enjoyable experience as it reduces pain and discomfort. Pay attention to the handle construction as it could be designed to distribute strength evenly to your palm. Most of the options available on the market feature non-slip. That prevents the machine from falling or slipping away during operation. You also need to pay attention to the handle size based on area you are drilling.
