Although I wish I had room to do something better than a desktop connector, so far, I'm happy with this tool. The setup is simple, although I agree with the comments that the manual can be better written. The bed is a straight check. Fence design does not make it easy to get a true 90 degrees. Set up. My Wixey digital angle meter has helped a lot here. First check the bed to make sure it is on the horizontal surface, then set the fence to 90 degrees and lock it. The weight of this unit really helps to stabilize it. First ran a pine tree, then about 60 feet of walnuts on the surface and edge. No problem. One user complained that the device was not good enough to eject debris. The manual makes it clear that it should be connected to the dust collection equipment. I recommend the use of workshop vacuum cleaner, good work, no waste problems. Now, if I can find a set of cemented carbide blades.

I've had this connector for about a year, although I don't use it often. I was an occasional carpenter, which replaced the grizzly bear's 6-inch connector. I like this worker very much. The table is long, the base is stable, and there is enough weight to keep it strong on the floor when I pass through it with a piece. It does a very good job of smoothing the edges. The old connector is a "normal" knife head that tends to split wood when I pass through a piece of wood with ripples (usually cherries). With this connector, I no longer have chips at all (I assume due to the spiral knife head). I had the chips around the board from the old connector, and when I ran them through this one, all these chips disappeared. I like more patterned wood, so I tend to texture part of the board, and then another way (or a knot near the edge), the knife head makes a good smooth cut. Setting up is not that difficult. I do need my son to help me put the bed in the stands. This part is not a person's job, so at least you need help at this stage. I drew the grizzly myself, but this bed is heavier and bigger. I can get all the squares and pendulum without too much trouble (thanks to INCRA5 "square). And I like that I don't need to play with knives at all, and I notice that there is still no comment on this product, so I want people to know about my experience with JINTER. I know my details are not there.

I bought the Powermatic 8 "spiral cemented carbide connector as a replacement for my 6" connector for many years, and I think this is one of the best equipment decisions I have ever made as a carpenter. I like my Powermatic longer, wider bed and smooth spiral cutter to give wood a very good finish. Another advantage of having cemented carbide tools is that each blade has four sharp cutting edges. When an edge becomes dull or scratched, all you have to do is rotate the blade 90 degrees, and you have a new sharp edge, and you don't have to make any tool adjustments like a straight blade. By the way, I made a bet when I bought this machine, because my workshop has only 20 amperes, 120 volts. Since Powermatic needs 240V, I need to solve the voltage difference problem, so I bought a transformer to upgrade 5kw. What I'm worried about is whether my store circuit will bring the inrush current to the squirrel cage, a 2-HP, single-phase motor. When I first started it, I held my breath, and to my great delight, there was no problem. I added this grapevine to others who face the same problem.

Rumor has it that this is the reincarnation of the porter's cable operator. I connected ~ 6 pieces of 2x6x6 board tonight, and I think it did a good job. I run the maximum speed on the face and halve the speed on the edge. It has a small footprint, which is exactly what I need for my 1 Bay garage store;) the construction quality is good, considering the money. The fence looked suspicious, but it didn't cause me any trouble. It is easy to recommend to enthusiasts / manufacturers

I bought mine at Lowes for $269, and at this price, this thing is very good. I basically have the same thing, except for some characteristics, in a craftsman, now it has been more than 20 years. The motor finally went out on me. I saw this on Lowes, it was cheap, (enough), convenient, so I chose a chance. I really like speed control, Arbor locks and table adjustments. Editor: I like the idea of a gazebo lock. In practice, as many people have pointed out, it does not work completely correctly because it hides the bolts that support the blade. In fact, tree locks have no actual function.) Some people commented that the fence, uh, well, cheap. Sort of. But here's the thing. Most people of this size rarely change the depth of the cut or the setting of the fence. All the time, I had the craftsman, I never set the fence to anything other than 90 degrees, and I never messed up the depth of the cut. This is a pain for craftsmen, but the point is that it does not matter. I know people will insist that you can face "airplanes" up to 6 inches of stock in this thing, but if you want to plan wood by planing. The main function of the connector is to connect the edges. Maybe you have a special wood processing need, you need to face the flat wood, or join the edge at 45 degrees. If so, I suggest you buy a suitable floor model. If you need to simply connect the edges, set up the fence and you're done. I set it up to reduce the thickness of 1 inch.

This is the first time I've joined. I am very nervous about its settings, adjustments, and even use! Let me share my experience (1. Shipping. When Amazon said it would show up, it did. It was placed on a large tray, which was carried by a fork into my garage. Its transportation condition is very good, there is no problem. Two big boxes. The paint is good (this is what I worry about from other comments) (2. Assemble. First of all, I hate putting things together (it may seem strange because I'm buying a processor), but anyway, it's true. The explanation is very simple, and the assembly is completely painless. Literally, it's like five steps. The only difficult part is that it raises the cast iron unit on the bracket. You really need two people to do it, but it's not hard, it's just heavy. Get a pulley setting that is cake because the factor distance works well. (3. "attune," this is one of my great fears. Adjusting the fence is the most challenging part of the process. I read the instructions about 10 times before touching the machine, which helped me a lot. It has a 90 degree stop, which is very effective, but mine does need to be adjusted. It took me about an hour to figure it out, but now I can easily adjust it in two minutes. The instructions are good, but you must read them carefully. The second thing you have to do is check to make sure the blade is in place. To my delight, when I put a straight edge on the discharge table and the blade and pulled on the pulley, the top of the blade was tested.

I think it is necessary to write a comment because so many people attack the machine. I own a company called Jordan Woodworks in Brunswick, Georgia. On some occasions I need something to move. If you put these together and adjust them, it will be a functional machine, and it will do the job well. The packing did leave a lot of dissatisfaction. I did miss a bolt and a nut. But I have a spare, so everything is fine. I made farm tables, beds and several other projects, and this machine did straighten the 2x10 I used on the farm table. I haven't used a planer, and I didn't buy it for that purpose, so this comment is based entirely on connectors, and I believe that's why most people here are buying it. Okay, that's my comment. It's a good machine. I've been using it for months, and it's doing very well.

It's easy for two people to assemble. The cutter needs to be adjusted and follows all other alignment instructions. The effect is very good, and very quiet.

I bought this from Amazon last year. So far, it has been good and there are no serious operational problems. Yesterday, I even partially connected a large piece of 4x10 "pine tree, which is 3 inches wider than the cutter head." The wood is a tough yellow pine, and the connector cuts it very well. I'll finish the board on the planer with a sleigh later. Delivery: this is the only place where there is trouble. The boxes were quite dilapidated when they arrived, but most of them were in good condition. Notice that the driver box is damaged. The driver was very helpful. He took all the boxes to my short, steep garage. During the assembly process, I noticed a crack in the paint on the bracket. Looking down at the dust chute, I can see that the metal sheet has buckled due to the weight of the motor (which is installed). Apparently, the tray fell off at some point and the machine was hit. I stopped assembling and called Jet. They asked me where I bought it, and when I said Amazon, they almost hung up on me. She said she called Amazon < click >. So that's what I did. Amazon was very friendly and helpful. I think when you spend more than a thousand dollars on things, they will give you top support representatives. I packed everything. After waiting a few days, a new machine came and the old machine was taken away. To be fair, if I have any warranty questions, I have no doubt that Jet will be helpful-they just don't want to get involved in Amazon shipments. Assembly: the new units are in perfect condition and come together easily with some help from their wives.
