That's great! I don't usually leave a comment, but it's much easier than a wired electric trimmer and much lighter than a gas-powered motor trimmer. I've been through it! This battery can last for an hour, if not more, and I've been cutting back on time!

Great hand trimmer! Last year we had the Black&Decker Sears model until it stopped working. (reluctantly) bought this one that looks very similar. There is no comparative performance, this one is better for miles & I wonder why? The blades remain sharp and we can cut faster. My wife is now using it to trim a small piece of grass we recently planted. "it's crazy," she said. "it works much better than we used to." We don't know why it's so much better, but it is! I strongly recommended this and was surprised, so I wrote this article. I hope it will help you make a decision. You won't be disappointed. By the way, it took me months to decide to rate this project! Cheers.

I bought this after cutting off the power cord of my old trimmer countless times last year. I was impressed by using it all season-I wish I could have got it a year ago. On the first warm day of the year, I decided to put it on some dormant brushes in the back, before it got completely out of control. About ten minutes later, the trimmer quit. I recharged the battery, but there was still nothing. A peek at the inside immediately became obvious-one of the motor's wires was floating. I suspect that the reason for its falling off is that the motor is not firmly fixed in the shell and twists slightly every time it starts and stops. This may be my one-time problem, but I think I will publish this article in case others encounter similar problems. Remove only one star because it is easy to repair, and I appreciate how easy it is to get to the tube inside (just a bunch of T20 screws).

This is my wife's comment on the product: I bought it after reading the 68-year-old lady's comments. I think if she can use this, so can I. I'm in my 40s, but I'm lazy, short, and passionately hate work in the yard. I live on a small farm. I usually think that if I really want to trim the green plants, I can adopt a goat. But recently, the paths and driveways from my house to the barn have been covered with blackberries and other shrubs and trees. Not only do I don't like being hit in the face by bushes, but the garbage company tells us that we need to fix the driveway because they don't want their garbage truck to get scratched. As I really don't have time to raise goats now, I think I have to do some pruning. Staring desperately at my manual scissors, I thought, "there must be a better way!" Yes, like a dummy in an information ad. So I did some research on Amazon and got this small number, and I don't want anything more difficult to operate than an electric toothbrush. I don't want to deal with wires, or gasoline, or have to read the instructions. I don't want anything heavy or clumsy. This is perfect for this bill. I charged the battery, put on my goggles, and went to town. The trimmer is light and easy to use; you can switch directions and hands at will, and it passes through the bushes like butter. I even cut off some pretty important branches (more than 3 inches in diameter).

When I got it, I knew it would be small, but I didn't realize how light it would be. Looks like there's no battery pack at all. It is very easy to hold with one hand because of its size and weight. The blade is obviously a little small, so it is not ideal for large hedges, but it is ideal for mending and removing random stems that need to be trimmed. I have tried this method with plants of all sizes, and it can handle about 1 "thick woody stems very well." When I pruned some of the poplar twigs that came out of the ground, it did get stuck, but eventually it was able to get through them. It can really plough through the pruning of hedges. This is a good supplement to use with other garden tools!

At first, I was a little afraid of battery-powered cutting tools. Not anymore. I used it for two hours before the battery ran out. Charge for less than an hour. I'm still surprised how well it does when cutting branches the size of big fingers. Its power is also very light. I climbed on the high branch with one hand. I'm trying to convince my wife that she uses old-fashioned hedging scissors, and she'll save hours because the tool is light enough for fairer gender use. I'm sorry, if that sounds sexist rather than information.

I cut my umbilical cord with my old scissors. It scared me. Tired of premixing 2-stroke motor odors, noise, and different mixing ratios. So I bought this with some fear. After using it twice, all I can say is wow, it's really amazing. After an hour at a time, my body ran out before the battery. It's well cut and the noise is very low. I didn't even use my earrings. I removed a lot of BlackBerry shrubs more than 10 feet tall. It used to take me a few days to use my wheeled string trimmer. It took me two hours. I'm going to buy Black and Decker, for about half that price, but when I read about the quality of the build, I was scared. I just ordered EGO chainsaw and blade blower. There is no battery pack because it is interchangeable. The battery charges quickly, too. Unfortunately, my body doesn't charge that fast. This is one of the few products that excites me. Battery technology has reached the point where it can compete with other power sources and provides a lot of convenience. If you're on the edge of buying this product, don't be, it's so good.

This is my fifth GreenWorks 40V tool. Like the rest of me, this fence trimmer exceeded my performance expectations. Settings include unpacking trimmers and sliding in a 40V battery. There is a dead switch that pulls back with your thumb and then presses the trigger to start moving the blade. The product is equipped with a blade protection device to provide protection during storage. Then I trimmed a yew hedge. It's too easy! The unit seems to have enough power, a good balance, and has done a very good job to produce clean cuts. I can flatten the top and side quickly. Then I tried to slice it with a thicker trunk of burning shrubs. No problem. The trimmer never slows down. I took the trimmer to the edge of the woods, where there were hundreds of little seabuckthorn buds (up to three feet high). I approached the ground, moved the pruning tool to Hippophae rhamnoides and watched the branches fall. I'm glad. Going back further, I used the trimmer in one-hand mode. This is a bit awkward, but it is still very feasible. I did about 300 square feet of seabuckthorn removal pretty fast. The trimmer never stops once. It produces sharp, clean cuts every time. Then I went to several other stumps, where I volunteered to grow, and the trimmers took them off well. I walked along the sidewalk in front of us, holding the trimmer vertically because it cut off all the spirals leaning on the sidewalk. It's easy to do. I went to the top of the driveway and trimmed six dogwood.

I bought this only for turf, no hedge. Just like I live in Florida, the grass seems to grow every minute! And my gardener did a terrible edge job (he now only mows the grass and the weeds pile up in the spots. I do other things). I'm also older and don't want to bend over all the time and "clean" my edges. I look picky about my garden space. This device is amazing. I have been using it widely for the past two days. Can control the charge very well. Did a good edge job. What I like is that it is purely adjustable different angels. You can cut along the edge and then along the top of the edge or clean up the space that the lawnmower can't enter. I have a wide range of views, it's like gold. Unlike horticulturists' edges and grass all over my well-covered garden (I just spent a few months covering it!) The grass just fell on the edge. All I had to do was blow or sweep it away. The tool is light, but the handle has a little weight. So you need to take a moment to use it to get the "steering wheel" / tilt just right (it has wheels on it). I really like quiet. The only negative effect is that the power button at the top of the pole is difficult to maintain while you are working, in part because the weight is at the bottom of the pole (the pole), which is partly due to clumsiness. For me, because I have some arthritis in my hand, it can cause my thumb to tire for a short period of time.

Although there are always negative comments on every product, when I bought a 2-in-1 hedge / grass scissors operated by the Sun Joe 7.2v battery, I kept positive comments and was not disappointed! Actually, I'm happy! As an elderly citizen and a recently widowed person, with the courtyard tools I can manage, this work is so important and makes it possible to keep the courtyard at its best. I have a relatively long row of yellow poplar fences and need a haircut in spring. In the past, I have been struggling with the heavy Clippers, powered by my arm muscles alone, and it is difficult to maintain shape, and it is so exhausting! The first time I hedged scissors with my new sun Joe was amazing! Sun Joe helps me buzz through the whole row of poplars, making it easy to keep my favorite shape and uniformity. Then I attacked a huge vine growing on one side of the house-I wanted to trim everything! In short, I am concerned about the performance of Sun Joe and battery life. Totally satisfied. It went on when I was ready to quit. Thank you, Sun Qiao!

Best Battery Hedge Trimmers Buying Guide

Henry Colon
Share post:

Tired of trimming garden hedges and shrubs with pruning shears? Hand tools are very efficient, but they are also more tiring. If you are one of those who enjoy having a clean and well-kept garden, you will know how much it exhausts having to cut the hedges, equalize and review them. To facilitate this tedious task, there is nothing like a battery hedge trimmer.

Power is the most important purchasing factor for a hedge trimmer. It will depend on it that you can carry out work on more or less thick branches.

For small cutting and profiling jobs, it is best to choose a battery hedge trimmer. These teams are cheap and have up to 400 W of power, perfect for taking care of the garden in your home.

Cut length and bar length

Battery-powered hedge trimmer models have the smallest blades of all, and electric ones are in the middle. The small-sized swords are perfect for home maintenance jobs and jobs that don’t require a lot of power.

Cut Type

The type of cut is another characteristic that you should look at before choosing your battery hedge trimmer. The type of cut influences the work you can do. Generally, hedge trimmer blades are sharp on one side only. These blades are ideal for cutting straight, but if you want to perform profiling or modeling work, you will need a double-cut one.

Double action cutting: in this case, the two blades are mobile and move relative to each other (this mechanism reduces vibrations and is less efficient for straight cutting than the previous one). Simple cut: it is a mobile blade that moves back and forth on a fixed axis and a blade without edges.

Teeth Gap

The separation between teeth will be that will determine the diameter of the branches that you are going to be able to cut. For example, battery hedge trimmers have shorter blades and less spaced teeth, as they have good power to cut thin branches and bushy vegetation.

Take a good look at this factor, because if you need to cut hedges with thick branches or if you are going to work with trees, you will need a machine with a lot of power and great separation between the teeth.

  • Between 12 and 16 mm: fine branches and young shoots.
  • Between 20 and 25 mm: for normal hedges.
  • Between 26 and 36 mm: for forestry work.

Most hedge trimmers must be operated with both hands. One is placed on the trigger handle and the other on the protection handle. This way mishaps are avoided and you will get less fatigued. Battery Hedge trimmers are not heavy machines but produce strong vibrations, so they must have an ergonomic and comfortable grip system.

The weight will directly influence the ergonomics of the machine. Battery hedge trimmers are the most ergonomic of all since the pole makes work easy since it forces you to hold the weight efficiently.

Battery Hedge trimmers will become your favorite tool. Not only will they allow you to take care of the garden, but they will also offer you the possibility to experiment and be creative in the shape of hedges and trees.
