Black&Decker is one of the tools I know and trust to make high-quality products. I'm glad to see they made this battery-powered chainsaw. We have a natural gas chainsaw, but as many others have noticed, it takes more energy to start it than to use it. I really need something easier and faster to use. We mainly cut down poplars and some pine trees to make firewood. As soon as I received the mail, I pulled out the battery and charger and used it to cook. The brochure says it will take about five hours to be fully charged. During that time, I read through the instructions and assembled the saw. It only takes a few minutes, and there is absolutely no need for tools. I was impressed by the strength of the saw. The saw is made of metal and plastic, very light and well balanced. I'm not a big, strong lumberjack. I'm a great-grandmother, so I don't like chainsaws very much, but it's wrong to work without the right tools. This is the right tool for me. I can cut out a good pile of logs within 20 minutes of charging the battery. I have a picture of my stake below. I like its weight and the simplicity of using a saw. I don't like manual lubrication of chains. It is annoying to push the plunger after each cut to keep the chain lubricated. I like to feel safe when I use a saw. It seems easy to control it because it doesn't run as fast as our natural gas chainsaw. I also like how easy it is to adjust tension.

My husband smiled when I told him I wanted to buy this special chainsaw to cut down our little tree. His chainsaw is too heavy for me & it's hard for me to start it because it's powered by gasoline. I'm also tired of waiting for him to cut down trees that need to be cut down. Earlier in the season, I bought a WORX leaf blower with two batteries, so I used these batteries & I bought this chainsaw! Unprecedented Best Buy! My husband is now sneaking out my chainsaw while I'm away! I have cut down 6 inches of trees with it, but mainly on the smaller box elder type trees, which block the light of my oak tree. The light weight makes it easy to manipulate & nothing can match an electronic battery! Each battery lasted about 30 minutes of intensive uninterrupted cutting, but I strongly recommend buying two batteries or a WORX chainsaw that already comes with two batteries. It's easy to put on a chain & it's easy to adjust. The first few times you need to tighten the chain after a few cuts, because it will loosen, which is normal, but it is very easy to tighten it with a knob. I like the fact that when I start playing with the chain, I can take the battery off. This is an additional safety precaution that I like to take. You need to buy bar chain oil & I suggest buying one or two more chains. Very satisfied with this purchase!

Many critics say they received a 9 ampere hour battery with their purchase, when described as sawing a 3 ampere hour battery. The details of the battery may confuse some people. The largest DeWalt 60V battery currently available (as far as I know) is rated at 3ah at 60V and 9ah at 20V. As a result, Amazon's description is correct, and no one mistakenly sent a higher capacity battery. The attached battery is the largest battery available to them.

I have some chainsaws of my own. And use some high-end Stihl models. All of these are crazy maintenance-intensive. If you are smart, you will bring them to the repair shop sometime in early summer and fall. Most of the fire departments I know have half a dozen Stihl,. There are several people in the store at any time. Is that what a chainsaw is? Put the rechargeable battery in the chainsaw, make sure the chain is open and fill the bar tank. You're fine. It starts immediately. All the time. Cold or not. Do not mix gas and oil. Can't be with carbohydrates. Don't worry about the gas leak. You can leave this in the car. Don't worry, it has enough energy to pass through a tree at least two feet wide. I tend to work slowly and carefully, so I don't need more. Normally, a battery can support me for 4 hours. If I cut flat continuously, it will last about an hour. Because I have four pairs of batteries, this is not a problem for me. People complain about the button. It's no big deal. You'll get used to it. It's a security feature. People who are very used to air saws will complain about the storm because they are used to idling the chainsaw, and the chainsaw is loud enough to tell you that it is ready. The chainsaw doesn't make any noise to tell you it's live. So, yes, you have to press the idiot button to get it online. If you've been working with a gas chainsaw every day for decades, it can be annoying because it's very different.

I bought this chainsaw for a walk in the woods in western Oregon. Most of the time, when you are on a muddy road in the forest, you will encounter a fallen tree crossing the road. Since this doesn't happen very often, I usually don't want to carry a gasoline chainsaw with me, but when you do want to continue your journey, it's much easier to cut down a tree with a chainsaw than with a hand saw (and I have it, too). I decided to risk buying a craftsman's 20v saw. It just arrived. I just tested it. A pretty big tree fell on a path on my farm, so I drove ATV, to see if it could cut it satisfactorily so I could drive over. I cut two pieces. This is 12 "across, no problem! I checked the battery after this use, it used only one of the three, so if I need it, I still have enough power. Now you won't go to the forest to play with this machine all day long, but what you can do is to easily handle any emergency or daylight tree work (probably much bigger than the 12 "round!") No problem. BOTTOM Line: this is a convenient, trouble-free, start-up and refueling gasoline saw that makes it a winner around the family / ranch / farm.

This self-saw is a little slower than my Stihl028. But there is enough power for serious loggers. In fact, this is incredible for a cordless saw. The 5AH battery can last for a long time. No noise, no smoke, which is necessary for campers and neighbor homeowners, especially if they work the night shift. This saw can easily cut out 16 inches or more logs. When I saw myself for the first time, I tightened the chain and it fell off. After using it for a while, I now loosen the chain a little bit, and the chain seems to hold better, even when cutting small limbs, as long as the cut is vertical. It is uncertain whether the rake on the new chain is too low, causing the teeth to be scratched off, or too tight is the problem. Now the chain rarely falls off, and at my current speed, I will use this saw to cut down most of my wood next winter. Not as sturdy as Stihl or Husky, but strong enough to do some pretty hard work, including experienced loggers cutting down trees up to about 20 inches high. Look at the video, I'm cutting a 16-inch dry old white oak log-this wood is hard and tough! What the ego saw walked briskly through it.

My last job before I retired was managing a forestry team that ran chainsaws all day for seven or eight months a year. Similarly, over the past 20 years, I have cut off all the firewood that can be used to feed firewood. Now that I'm almost seventy years old, although I can still use the saw well, I hate pulling the trigger line, especially after the machine has been sitting and doesn't want to start right away. As a semi-professional, once I decide to buy a battery-powered chainsaw, I take a look at the top professional brands that cost two to three times as much as the chainsaw. But I read the comments and still had a good air saw, so I decided to try this. I'm most impressed. In the last big storm, I had a big birch tree 12 inches in diameter falling. I can't believe I cut most of it with this little guy. There is even no problem making cuts to the trunk that is still hanging. If I had a second battery, the Bond D compatible, for less than half the price of my competitors, I could do the whole thing. Given Amazon's low prices here, I am most impressed by this saw. Bar length? I decided it was more important to be lightweight than to have a longer bar. Many of the saw's competitors have longer poles, but there are three and four, and they are heavier. There are few tasks that require a strip of wood longer than 12 "- the birch I just cut is actually between 14 and 15"-the saw works very well. I also noticed that the two top professional brands are also 12 inches and.

For reference, I'm a professional Arborist, currently working for a municipality, with over a decade's experience in Line-Clearance Arborism. So, you might say that I know a thing or three about working a chainsaw..I'm honestly amazed.. This saw is awesome! With a thirty-five(ish) dollar upgrade (bar & chain), it'll hold its own against either the Stihl or Husqvarna battery-powered top-handles. And, it'll do so, for half the price! On one of the large 60v flex batteries, it did hard work all day. You can actually, easily forget to add bar oil, because you're never stopping to refuel. It's THAT efficient! This is now my go-to climb-saw...hands down! One of this saws best features is how quiet it is. Imagine this:...you're up a tree, about to make a decent size cut with a conventional chainsaw. Before you begin your back-cut, you check on the "all-clear"; all systems Go! Shortly after you start on your back-cut, throttle open, your ground person sees "something" (let's pretend it's an out-of-control baby buggy, for dramatic effect!) that, for some reason, you can't see. The grounds person is yelling at the top of their lungs, trying to get your attention, before it's too late! Meanwhile; all you can hear is that ported & polished 201 or 338, screaming like a banshee...It's a scary thought. And not only COULD it happen; it HAS happened! But, with an electric chainsaw, volume levels are a negligible factor.Oh, and, as an added bonus, it doesn't reek of gas! Try driving around on a...

I own a 5.60-acre property, most of which are trees. Last September, Hurricane Irma ravaged my property. I have many trees and palm trees that have been completely or partially blown down. My gasoline chainsaw and my chainsaw brought me problems, so I decided to buy a new chainsaw. I have a lot of battery-operated yard tools (blower, string trimmer, pole chainsaw trimmer, etc.). I like battery-powered tools because they are convenient and quiet. But I'm skeptical about buying a batter-powered chainsaw. I think they may run too slowly (chain speed) and the battery can't keep charging too long. I did my homework, checked many brands of chainsaws at Amazon, and finally decided to use the WEN 40417 40V maximum lithium ion 16-inch model. Well, all I can say (at least so far) is that I am happy with my purchase! I assembled the saw, charged the battery, and set off to do some work. The saw cut through slash pine, eucalyptus, live oak, shrub oak, etc., and the trunk and branches were like a knife in butter. I think it takes twice as long to cut a 12-inch trunk as it takes a 16-inch gasoline chainsaw. Wrong! WEN is just as fast or faster. I am also satisfied with the battery duration. This is definitely enough IMO. I also like the fact that this saw is much quieter than a gasoline-powered chainsaw. I have no reservations about recommending this chainsaw to ordinary homeowners. It can even be used for commercial purposes, as long as there is a backup battery. This.

Best Battery Chainsaws Buying Guide

Henry Colon
Share post:

The chainsaws are tools that can easily use throughout our daily lives, especially when performing yard work or require cutting wood and other objects. However, it is ideal to have a good chainsaw and one that is battery powered, since it implies better movement without the need for cumbersome cables.

Now, we know you think they are expensive equipment to buy, but you don’t have to invest thousands of dollars in them. We were investigating a bit of online research, so here we have a buying guide for you to choose the best battery chainsaws.

Battery voltage

The battery of a chainsaw of this style must have a certain type of voltage with it. This is because it is that same voltage that will help determine its power, as well as other factors such as speed and number of cuts. Most models, bet on batteries that have an approximate voltage of 18V, but there are models that you can find in the market with 40V and more.

Battery Quantity

Similarly, the quantity or number of batteries that an electric chainsaw can have is also an important factor, and especially when we refer to models that can work with other energy sources such as fuel. Battery chainsaws usually come with a single battery, although there are models that have 2 or 3 types of a battery of the same voltage (usually 18 V).

Battery life

Following the previous point, when you have one or more batteries in an electric chainsaw, its duration will change considerably. Remember, the batteries must be charged for a certain time (usually about 70 to 120 min) to have an autonomy time of 2 to 4 hours in a row.

Battery Type

You should consider the type of battery that has the electric chainsaw model that you have chosen. The batteries that are currently used for different types of equipment and appliances, as well as the chainsaws, are Lithium-ion since they allow the electric charge to last a considerable time and the performance of the same does not wear out quickly.

Brand Quality

You must choose an excellent chainsaw brand, which is recognized internationally, suitable for any type of task you have in the garden. The brand must be useful for those who want to work comfortably without wiring.

A good brand also performs an efficient balance between quality and price, with compact models and that allows all its users to have facilities when using them. A recognized brand in terms of tools worldwide is widely appreciated for the quality of the materials of their equipment as well as the battery life of their chainsaws.

Ergonomics

With a brilliant trajectory, an ideal battery chainsaw has an excellent 30 cm model. The design must be ergonomic and comes with a great grip, which makes the machine balanced and perfect for those who cannot carry much weight.

Considering the aforementioned criteria, you can choose the best battery chainsaws for your gardening work. Different models come at different prices. So, make sure you choose the one that best fits your needs. Good Luck!
