I love this thing! The minimum setting was set and the blade tension was dialed in just a few minutes. Love it has a small 9 "band saw fence." 2018! All band saws should have fences! I'm glad I found this before I bought any other band saws at this price point. After using it for nearly a month, I was very satisfied with it, and my 9-year-old son had been using it, and it worked well for him. The blade is actually very good. I wanted to change it right away. Typically, these low-cost band saws have cheap blades, and this seems to be a grade higher than that. If you look at Ryobi (I am) or any other brand, including seaport freight, at this price point, you will notice that these are all made by the same company, with only a few design changes to make them look different. It is worth adding fences without having to make fences.

I am a manufacturer of SF cabinets, and I also specialize in sorting things. I have a retro, spiral cemented carbide, Rockwell plane, which I use for doors, but this is for everything else. Not everything DeWalt does is as good as this plane (I have a bunch of XR tools), but this one is sweet. It's just quiet and smooth, and leaves a glassy end. This replaces the cable Bosch I've been using for 20 years, and it has a better fence that shoots the chip out of either side. I hardly bought this because you were stuck on the chip on the right, but I invested in the 20V system, so I gave it a try. It was so good that I found myself making long scratches with it, as I used to do with puzzles, even shallow scratches with sanding machines or block planes. I'm very picky about my tools (ask DeWalt, to make a drill as good as this plane!) I'm really looking forward to using this. Every once in a while, I have a situation where the chip has to shoot up and fall on me (yes, there's a bag I threw away), the fence is a useless hindsight, but if you don't use it to make the door, it's one of the better XR tools made by DeWalt. And, I have to say, it's great not to have a power cord on the plane.

Let me start by saying I like this tool. I am an electrician and I use it for everything from cutting 3 EMT to thread rods to rough lines. I like its small size. Hopefully it is larger than 1/4 inches, although in cutting capacity, then it will fit 1. 5 "EMT.MILWAUKEE claims 150" EMT to cut single battery charging. I didn't realize it was true at all. If I can get 50 points, I'll be lucky. And the tool runs a little slowly. Hopefully it has a speed adjustment, you can speed it up a little bit. All in all, a great tool doesn't know how I live without it.

I have an existing line, and now I have a cordless version. I've heard that cordless is not that powerful, but now that I have one and have used it many times, I can tell you that it is as powerful as the wired version, and I like it!

I bought the Skil 9 band saw about five months ago, and I use it almost every day to make small wooden handicrafts. It's great, but there's something you need to pay attention to: before I bought it, I read a negative comment saying it was a lack of motivation. It's not a lack of motivation, of course, but after two months of normal use, I did experience a sharp decline in motivation. After some troubleshooting, I found the belt loose. Once I tighten the belt, it has more power than when I unpack it. I can tear open a 2x4 cream like a hot knife, which comes with a low-quality 4TPI blade. Depending on the purpose and frequency of your use of this blade, you may want to put the blade aside and install a better quality blade when you combine it together. I cut it with a higher number of teeth. The plastic blade rails on the table broke about four months later. It popped up once or twice while cutting some curves and pieces of plastic. The last time it popped up, it was on its side, the blade hit it, and it shattered into so many pieces that I couldn't even find all the pieces. So when you get yours, you may want glue with some temporary glue or replace it immediately. * do not stick permanently as the part needs to be removed to replace the blade. * keep it clean. If you use it often, use a vacuum cleaner often and make sure the rubber on the drive wheel is cleaned. I noticed that it might be clustered by fragments in saliva.

The next day I put this in a workplace and I fell it off the boom elevator. It fell on 15 feet of concrete. I was so angry that I didn't think it would survive. Finish what I'm doing, and then go down and at least claim the battery for my other tools. Pick it up and don't see any damage. Bounce the battery back (on impact) and pull the trigger. You're doing a good job. Taking a closer look, there is only one wear and tear on the black shell around the blade, passing through the pipe as if there was nothing. And, compared with other Portland bands I've ever used: the simplest straight cut I've ever encountered. 20 feet in the air, with a EMT stick in one hand (different angles because I'm in the elevator), a saw in the other hand and a mini gun in the mouth? Cut straight, just like I did on the tripod. Metal shields for blades are highly recommended. Amazon doesn't. I had to order from the DeWalt dealer in town. This makes it almost stupid evidence that if your finger doesn't get a memo, a lot of things you can't see when it's in the operating position of sharp metal and motor.

For price, this band saw provides a great set of functions. As an amateur, the quality of the parts seems to be enough to meet my needs, and it is easy to assemble the saw from the box. However, like some others, I found that tracking adjustments is a terrible time to sink. According to the recommendations in the manual, I got a mottled result-the blade will run in the center and rotate the wheel manually, but when the motor engages, it will slip off from the front of the wheel. If I react quickly to this, I can "grab" the blade off the wheel by making some minor adjustments after the motor is turned on-but I have to do this every time I use a saw-which seems crazy. I read the other comments here and tried to make some adjustments to the next wheel as described-it seemed closer, but similarly, if I made any adjustment to the tension on the blade after running the blade around the wheel, everything broke free, and I started with Square 1 again. * warning: I am sure that the following suggestions may invalidate any type of warranty provided by Wen. At your own risk. * finally-heartbreak-I turned to reading more about band saw tuning (and general band saw settings), hoping to know what I did wrong. As others have pointed out, Wen seems to have used flat tires on these band saw wheels. Although I believe this can be done effectively, as a last-ditch effort, I found some guidelines on how to crown a flat tire (see …) 。

I've been using this saw for about eight months. Like several others who received saws from the Pennsylvania hub, the base of my saw was flat on the opposite side. In fact, there's almost a three-inch deviation. The culprit-the right back corner. After briefly wanting to know which ancient gods I had inadvertently offended, I manipulated a series of clips / fulcrums with a jury and put the tool in its "attitude adjustment" and sent it home for a week. To my dismay, it took only about half of the warp. Realizing it was a lost battle-and I didn't want to go through the trouble of returning it-I decided to put it on the pedestal I made for the stands. (Rikon 13-913 10-inch band saw frame-itself is a well-constructed product.) Despite the warped base, once the gasket is in place, the performance of the saw is much better than expected, and the overall construction quality and functionality are very good. Although I haven't had a chance to cut any 8-inch laminated sea support beams, I've cut and reshaped all kinds of hardwood and cork, up to 3.5 inches thick. Excellent: 1. Heavy and sturdy structure II. Tracking adjustments do not require a doctorate in space quantum mechanics. The dust port allows for the removal of most dust. A cast iron table, in my case, is flat, square. Small footprint (compared with larger size of the same kind) advantages: 1. It includes a fence that can be adjusted at least 8 times (10.2 times). The chute is.

I like this band saw. I've been using it in my guitar building store. The 1ax 2 motor has enough power to cut. I use this saw to resize the wood to make parts. I don't need this saw to cut the wood into thinner pieces. I have a 5hp band saw, and the first thing you need to do is throw away the blade that comes with the saw. Get a good Timberwolf or Olsen blade. Second, after you put the saw together, watch the YouTube video: set up your band saw and Alex Snowglass. He has the best way and explains how to make the most of your saw. Setup may take 30 minutes to an hour, but it's worth it! I use a short hose to connect the vent directly to my dust agent separator and Fein vacuum cleaner. Getting a good blade and a good setting will make this tool a must-have tool for your store.

Best Band Saws Buying Guide

David Dawson
Share post:

The band saw is a cutting tool that can be pedal or electric, has a serrated metal band, narrow, long and flexible. This is a band that slides on two wheels which are in the same vertical plane with a space between them. That is what makes it possible for this machine to carve, create curvilinear material, trim and make any cross-section you need.

Generally, they are used in carpentry work and any work that requires an irregular cut. This is possible because it is composed of a gooseneck-shaped frame. On which a saw blade that is known as the tape is interned. The parts that make up a band saw are:

Tape: It is a fundamental piece that is what makes the cut. It is a blade with teeth at its sides, ensuring that the movement of the saw is carried out in the correct way.

Motor: As with any machine, this is responsible for the movement of the main parts of the saw.

Flyers: They can be vertical or horizontal are balanced in the same plane on which the saw will perform the movement. It is driven by the engine. The secondary steering wheel is dragged by the band saw blade.

Hydraulic Pumps: It is the part of the saw in charge of supplying forces to the machine for the correct functioning of the presses and the cutting head.

Cooling pumps: In case of heating or the machine requires lubricant, the cooling pump is located. It is an area responsible for supplying the coolant.

Presses: In order to be able to carry out the cutting of the material it is necessary that the necessary pressure is applied, so there are presses.

Buying Guide

Depth: This is essential because it will define the type of material with which you will work, a basic band saw cuts up to 15 cm thick, while a professional or industrial double the cutting width to 30 cm or so. It should be noted that the width is considered at the distance between the tape and the nearest vertical element.

Speed: Are the meters or feet that the belt travels in a minute, a good band saw must have varied speed options. To adapt the necessary cut to the material we want to carve and thus obtain more precise cuts.

Flywheels: These make it possible to rotate the tape, the cutting width cannot exceed the diameter of the flyers.

Table and blade guide: The material of the tables are usually made of aluminum, steel, iron or sheet, this should have grooves to improve the removal of sawdust and chips. They should be able to gradually tilt to 45 degrees to achieve bevels or miter.

Brake: For safety measures, switches and starting must be secured and automatic, so that the saw stops automatically when opening access to the steering wheels.

Sawtooth: These are expressed in inches, and the thicker the piece, the increased number of teeth it will have.

Cutting capacity: Refers to the amount of material that the saw can cut in a single pass, usually 6 to 36 inches, this is determined by the size of the saw you have.
